Was driving approximately 55mph odometer rolled to 50,000 miles. When this happened, vehicle just stalled out. There was no prior warning of problem. Vehicle started to roll backwards. Placed vehicle in neutral & vehicle started right. Pulled to side of road & turned vehicle off. Will be taking vehicle to dealer to check out problem.*ak

The speedometer and tachometer failed during the trip on highway, i brought the van to the dealer, but they don't have the parts and don't know when the parts will become available. Driving without speedometer could be dangerous especially in winter conditions.

1999 odyssey with transmission problems. **cc the consumer has been having ongoing problem with the transmission for over three years. The vehicle would roll while on hills, was sluggish and would not shift properly. Everytime the vehicle was taken to be repaired the consumer was assured that nothing was wrong. The transmission was finally changed but the problems continued. *nm

The automatic transmission allows the minivan to slip backward on a hill when the foot is taken off the accelerator or brake. Since i had never driven this minivan before, i almost slid backward into another vehicle. As this transmission is unlike that on other cars i have driven, a warning should be placed prominently in the manual, and the dealer should instruct new honda owners about this risk.
