The struts on the liftgate of my 2006 honda odyssey lx completely failed in november 2011 at around 40,000 miles. Thankfully, this happened as i was opening it, so no one was underneath it yet. The liftgate is extremely heavy and could have caused serious injury, especially to a small person. We replaced the struts with new honda parts purchased from the same honda dealership where we purchased the vehicle. It is…

Passenger side sliding door failed to disengage the lock. Had to take to the dealer where they removed the door panel and replaced the latch. Since the door would not open they had to do this from the inside of the vehicle. On 9/1/2012 the driver side sliding door also failed to disengage the lock. I have not had this repaired yet. I believe this is a safety defect. Luckily both times we were parked, but if it had…

My 2006 honda odyssey (with 45000 miles) rear lift gate supporting strut(s) failed and the the gate became so heavy. Luckily the failure happened when the gate was closed. If the failure occurs when the gate is open, someone may be injured. However, i did bump my head when i put a post to hold the gate while removing items from the vehicle. I accidentally hit the post and the gate fell and hit my head. The key point…

Based on a report today that honda is recalling 2003/2004 honda odyssey where the issue involves the ignition interlock, a device intended to ensure that the key can only be removed when a vehicle is firmly shifted into park. I have a 2006 honda odyssey and had a similar issue in 2010 where after parking and removing my keys and i got down, the van moved backwards and the my front door hit another car in the parking…

Power liftgate closes unexpectedly every time it is opened on model year 2006 odyssey touring vehicles equipped with power operated rear liftgate. Vehicle owner hit in head by closing liftgate. Right power liftgate gas strut has worn out prematurely and fails to hold the power liftgate in the fully open position. Parts replaced by dealer to correct the failure. *tr

My 2006 honda odyssey's rear spoiler flew off the back of the vehicle while driving along an interstate narrowly missing the vehicle behind me. The spoiler apparently broke due to normal use while the vehicle had some ice on the roof. The extended warranty coverage i purchased denied coverage. I paid to replace the spoiler. *tr

My family owns a 2006 honda odyssey. Since 8,000 miles on the vehicle we have been asking for warranty work on the sliding doors. The rear passenger electric sliding door does not close on an incline due to mechanical failure. We have to drive to a flat area with the door open and the kids in the car to get the door to close. Honda has attempted to fix it 6 times unsuccessfully. It hasn't worked since the car had…

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 honda odyssey. The contact stated the driver and passenger's side sliding doors would open independently while driving at various speeds. The sliding doors also would not close when the contact attempted to close them. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis numerous times. The contact was unaware of the repairs performed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The…
