I was washing the windshield on the passenger side. I lifted up the w/s wiper element superstructure and the wiper arm dislodged and smacked and cracked the windshield upon impact. The wipers (both sides) operated normally and we had just returned from a very rainy vacation. There were no signs of any abnormal operations nor installations. I was standing on my front porch, vehicle parked in the driveway, and my rear hatch window shattered. The weather was decent, mid 60's. So it wasn't extremely cold or extremely hot. I live on the end of a cul-de-sac. Nothing was around it, noone was around, nothing hit it. It just shattered, blew glass both inside the van and outside the van.
